Spiros Chasiotis
Founder/ Managing Director

As Managing Director and Founder of 81, Spiros oversees the strategic direction, operational management, and business development while ensuring the company meets its goals and growth objectives. He is responsible for establishing and innovating services, managing client relationships and projects, and leading the team to achieve sustainable success.

Starting his career at the Technical University of Munich, Spiros founded his own project management and consultancy company and later worked in senior management for several large engineering and consultancy firms in Germany.

With over 20 years of experience working as a consultant and project manager in IT, renewable energies and the building industry, he has gathered a deep insight into these sectors and the challenges each industry faces, specially building and construction.

Believing in a necessary shift in the construction industry towards a more process-driven and collaborative approach, data and science-based information, and effective communication, he saw the opportunity for a new business venture, the idea for 81 was born.

As a certified Passive House Consultant, Project Manager and Pre-Construction Manager, Spiros supports homeowners, architects, builders, developers and other relevant parties involved in a construction project in successfully overcoming challenges in building more energy-efficient, healthier and sustainable environments.

With an entrepreneurial mindset, offering innovative services and solutions and collaborating with other like-minded professionals in the industry Spiros wants to contribute to building a better future.

Henrik Ender
Partner/ Architect, Building Physics Advisor

Henrik’s passion is harnessing the rich synergies between design and science.

It’s the merging of architectural design values with verifiable data-driven environmental analysis that is at the core of his vision for how we create buildings.

As a Business Partner, registered Architect, Passive House Designer and Building Physics Advisor, he is responsible for the development and execution of architectural design and energy-modelling services for residential and commercial projects at 81.

Henrik gained over 20 years of experience in the Australian construction industry since his graduation in Germany in 2002. Prior to joining forces with 81, he established the residential architectural design studio +&+Architects in 2019. Earlier, he held a lasting and continuous position as project executive with COX, a leading national architectural design firm, working extensively on large-scale multi-residential and commercial projects exceeding $200m in value.

As an experienced architectural practitioner, he embeds his diverse knowledge and personal approach into environmental integrity, excellence in design, honest collaborations and client-centric services.

81 is grateful to have with Henrik someone on board who has the unique ability to combine and integrate architectural design with sciences-based facts. It ensures that our projects are not only aesthetically pleasing but also provide an energy-efficient, comfortable and healthy environment.

Dean Hoggart
Partner/ Designer, Energy Assessor

Dean is a family man, building designer, accredited NatHERS assessor, and Passivhaus consultant with a passion for buildings that work for all of us. He brings a thorough understanding of design, together with strong documentation and analytical skills to 81.

At 81, Dean contributes to the ongoing development of new solutions and provides practical design services and energy assessments for our projects. With a thorough understanding of the delivery of construction projects, he also conducts site inspections and quality assessments for clients to ensure the implementation of the intended design. As a certified Passivhaus Designer and ATTMA Level 1 Air Tightness Tester Dean oversees and tests the implementation and execution of high-performance and Passivhaus principles on-site.

Dean believes that everyone deserves to live, work and study in buildings that are healthy, comfortable and energy-efficient.

He is motivated by a simple question – have we done enough to ensure this building will perform as desired? He answers this by using Passivhaus and NatHERS tools to quantify the predicted building performance, enabling our clients to make informed decisions at all stages of their projects.

By utilising his technical skills and experience and leveraging diverse life experience gained working in engineering and geology for the mining and energy industries, Dean quickly cuts to the critical issues and develops practical solutions.

Having Dean on board is a tremendous asset for 81. His unique blend of technical expertise, practical problem-solving skills, and unwavering commitment to sustainable and efficient building practices ensures that our projects not only meet but exceed client expectations.
